In addition to sonatas and variation works, Ludwig van Beethoven also left behind a considerable number of individual pieces for piano. They range from larger works such as "Die Wuth über den verlornen Groschen" or Fantasy Op. 77 to the witty miniatures of the bagatelles. In terms of their genesis, they pervade the entire oeuvre of the composer from his time in Bonn to the last years of his life.
